DUBAI – Vista Maritime Travel & Tourism Dubai has organised a health awareness programme at Queen Elizabeth 2 Dubai, bringing together professionals and community members to highlight the importance of preventive healthcare.

The initiative was led by the company’s CEO, Dr Zafar Tahir, alongside his team, with a focus on encouraging people to pay greater attention to their health through regular assessments and timely medical advice.

The programme also addressed health concerns that can often be overlooked by people with demanding professional schedules.

Health awareness

Dr Zafar Tahir arranged the programme to reach individuals who may be unaware of existing health conditions or have limited opportunities to seek professional health guidance. The session encouraged participants to take a more proactive approach to their well-being by understanding the value of routine health assessments, early medical consultation and timely check-ups.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Zafar Tahir highlighted the tendency among people, particularly those with busy work schedules, to postpone medical examinations until symptoms become more pronounced. The programme was intended to provide an opportunity for members of the community to receive professional guidance, better understand potential health risks and recognise the importance of incorporating regular health screening into their routines.

The event also focused on preventive healthcare among professionals and workers who spend long hours at work and may have limited time to prioritise their personal health.

Orthopaedic focus

Dr Ashfaq Konchwalla, an orthopaedic surgeon, delivered an informative presentation on orthopaedic health and common conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles and mobility.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining correct posture, remaining physically active, managing body weight and supporting bone health. Participants were also advised to seek medical attention when experiencing persistent pain, discomfort or mobility-related problems.

The presentation further addressed the importance of early assessment and appropriate treatment, which can help prevent complications and support mobility and quality of life.

Quarterly sessions

As part of Vista Maritime Travel & Tourism’s ongoing community welfare efforts, Dr Zafar Tahir said the company intends to organise similar health awareness programmes every quarter.

The planned sessions are aimed at creating regular opportunities for people living and working in Dubai to access health education and professional guidance, while encouraging them to undergo routine medical check-ups.

The company said the quarterly initiatives will focus on promoting greater awareness of potential health concerns, encouraging healthier lifestyles and making preventive healthcare a more regular part of everyday life.
